So, when I got back to the day care to pick him up there was a little blue bear cut out to match all the others with names on them... Sarah, Max, Lilly...
and now there is an ANDRU! He is apart of a "class" and it is adorable. It's so cute. I am so proud.
They said he didn't get fussy at all. He also took his entire bottle. (I poked the nipple with a safety pin a million times. It should be easier for him now.)
They gave me a sheet that they fill out every day. Says how many wet and dirty diapers he had and when he went down for a nap. Whether he had a bottle or a snack- or both. It's so nice! The ladies were really nice, too.
I got a bunch of homework done in that time and then I went and did some shopping. We needed computer paper and a new shower rack thingy. Oh yea, and then I went to Braums and had my first fast food burger in 8 months. Oops- Never again!
Dang it! O well, good day- I deserved it!

We have to schedule lunch sometime...
Man, this kid is just been so busy this week. Me and him has got to schedule lunch sometime to be able to catch up!
So, earlier this week I noticed two cut teeth on his left side to make his four baby teeth into 6. Well, todayI noticed another one on the left top. So, booger's got 7 teefers. He sat up all by himself... went from belly to knees then to his bottom with no help from his mama. TODAY he said "Mama"... 4 times! And then again earlier this week I tried something new with him- I held his hands above his head and we "walked" together. He did it too. He walked! (With help, though- but still) & He loves it. He was just as surprised as I was to find that he could do it. He laughed and squealed. I thought to myself though, 'I wonder how long he has been able to do this and I have just never tried it before!'
Tonight (since Mindi wouldn't watch him we had to take him along! haha just kidding) we went to a bunch of places checking out all the Baby's First Halloween costumes we could find. I liked the Bat, the Rat and a baby elephant ones. Then we went to Souper Salad. He was a good boy the whole time despite his runny nose and red eyes. : ( I fed him a couple of pieces of a mushroom and let him play with a plastic straw wrapper. Which made this lady come over and ask us if we knew he was playing with it.
Yes, I knew. I gave it to him. Bad Mommy! (We had left his toy in the car parked in front of Old Navy!) Not winning any awards this year...........
Had such a good day! And a great week of accomplishments! Walkin', talkin', little toof growin' baby o mine.
o yea, and then we got his first day of Mother's Day Out tomorrow! Wish us luck... wonder what I am going to do with 5 whole hours to myself- other than homework of course.

Woo hoo 'nother one!
So, Dru sat up all by himself tonight! He was up on all fours then put one foot in front of him, shifted his weight back then was sitting up- all alone. I gasped and ran over to him hugged on him and loved on him.
And he's really close to saying mama. I'll say it to him and he'll laugh- every time. Sometimes he'll move his mouth to do an M sound but then won't put voice to it. We're close though- I can feel it.
And then today was a friend's baby shower. Having a little girl. She's going to be one spoiled lil tot. Riley Anne. I did my usual painting... everyone loved it. All those cute lil girl's clothes were killing me. I want a little girl of my own. And Dru wants a little sister.
: ) O well... We can wait.

I don't think I am ready
So, last week I called a Mother's Day Out program. It's this beautiful church on Memorial. I have been there a few times to deliver some group pizzas. They always tip really well and every one's really nice. So, I called them to get Dru on a waiting list. Christy put Mason on a waiting list for a day care and it took like 6 months! So, I figured that would give me plenty of time to make sure he's got the bottle thing down pat and such.
Well, they called me back today and there is currently no wait for his class.
: ( I don't think i am ready. But I know he is- So, we're gonna check it out on Monday and if I like it then he will start on Wednesday. He will only go Wednesdays. 9:15 am - 2:15 pm. It's not much- just gives me a chance to get some school work done in that time... or run to wal-mart baby-less. There are a lot of things I need to do that I can do in that time. I just hope I don't get tempted to sleep during that time. That's a very me thing to do.
Wednesday's the perfect day to do it too. Billy works and then goes to school so I usually am about ready to cry by the end of the day if Dru has been fussy.
I guess I am kinda excited. I warned her on the phone I would probably cry though when I dropped him off the first few times!

Dru is ....
Dru is feeding himself! Yay! So, I started practicing every day with him to take his bottle and sit at his highchair. (It's really frustrating to do this every single day- he never really ate that much from a spoon and he acted like we were killing him when we gave him a bottle!) BUT!!! Today I gave him a new food. Cherry Puffs! And he was picking them up like he knew how to do this all along and was actually making it to his mouth. I put down 18 of them on his tray and only 3 were in his seat when I picked him up. (I fed a lot of them to him, but he was picking quite a few of them up himself.)
AND He has had a five ounce bottle every day for about a week! Yay... we are well on our way to a more independent Baby Dru!

There is no stopping a hungry man.
We had a wonderful pool party at Billy's mom's yesterday. Chowed down on yummy taco salad and I finally got to try Mary's Pina Colada. (The last time she made it, I was pregnant- no Pina Coladas for me!)

Dru swam with me and played in his turtle floaty. It was cute. I waited an extra long time to nurse him since I had that drink, and by the time I was ready he was uh, extra ready...
I sat him on my lap, facing me and I tried to get my top to cooperate with me. As soon as one of my tatas was exposed- he lunged at me like it had been a million years since he was nursed! Before I knew it he was latched on and there was nothing I could do. He was still sitting up and facing me! He had his tiny little hands on both sides of the tata... it was odd.

Billy came in and started laughing, "What is he doing?" I had to explain to him that the impatient little boy simply saw dinner and didn't care what position I had him in for it.
