Oops. Sorry kid.

Bad mommy alert, CAUTION Bad mommy alert!

I caught Dru chewing and sucking on a receipt yesterday. Half of it was gone. I jokingly said aloud, "Somebody got a lil fiber in their diet today!"

A few hours later... I found the rest of the receipt. You couldn't read what was written on it anymore.

......It was in his diaper!

EW!!!! It was a gas receipt from 7-11. I guess that's how Dru really feels about gas prices these days. He chews it up and poops it out!!!! EW! It was pretty amazing actually. It was still a piece of paper. Not even crinkled up.

What an impressive kid, huh?

It's true

"I love my child more than anything in the world. If an angel came from heaven and asked me if I'd die this moment to ensure that my child have a long and happy life I'd be dead with a handshake."

First time for everything!

So, I never thought something so amazing would ever go down in a Chuck E. Cheese boothe, hidden in the corner.

I nursed Dru in public for the very first time! (What were you thinking happened in there!)

It wasn't that bad. Only one curious kid stopped and peaked around the car seat. Ha ha! And who would have thought it would happen again so soon. I nursed him in the fitting room at Target today while waiting for my one hour photo.

Oh, man and GET THIS! So, I have had three people ask me in the past if Dru was my son. I was thinking, 'OK, do we not look alike?' or 'do I look too young to have a kid?' even 'do I have babysitter stamped on my forehead or something?'
I finally asked "WHY!"

..... and the Hibdons guy said, "You look really good! Too good to have a small baby like that!" I was like, "YAY!!! I'm skinny! hahahahah!"
Everyone needs to hear that shit after having a baby, man!

After that, I treated myself to some Taco Bell. I earned it. So, it was a gloomy day and there was no one in the drive thru line so I made small talk with the seemingly bored drive thru guy. It could have been considered flirting, but I wasn't trying or anything.

and he called me "Gorgeous!" That day was MY DAY!

So... close...

Man, Dru is all over the floor. He rolls around and he scoots. You put a toy anywhere in the room and he'll get to it in any way except for crawl. He's getting so close to it though!!! He can get up on his knees and he'll wiggle around. But he won't really go forward. He's been scooting backwards on his back with his feet for over a month now. They say that's the first step. Cuz they're bending their knees and such. I guess he's practicing the motion (Just upside down)But I can feel it coming. Every time I set a toy in front of him on the floor I feel the urge to get the camera cuz this might be the time!I'm just so proud.

He's getting soooo big!

My six month old baby boy has FOUR teeth and can sit up all by himself! By that way since my last entry he started sitting up alone... and those teefers came in since then, too. Wow huh?

Happy half-birthday Baby Dru!

So, my precious lil man is a whole half of a year! It is truly amazing how much he has changed. The way he looks, behaves and gets around. He break dances! haha- When put on the floor he'll do a complete 360. Whether he is on his belly or back. He is really close to being able to crawl. He will scoot and he will push himself with his toes. He grabs for everything- including my hair! He's like a claw machine. Sometimes he drops his toys on the floor. In which case, I will bend down and holding him close to his toy and he picks it up. CLAW MACHINE! Ha ha.
He has a favorite toy now. Baby Ogre. You know from Shrek? He can be getting fussy and bored playing with toys, but the second he sees Baby Ogre coming his way he lights up. He kisses him and sucks on the little patch of red hair on the top of the stuffed animal's head.
In the beginning of the summer when I would take him down to the pool he would mellow out. Just chill in the water. Now he splashes and smiles and expresses that he's having fun. And everyone loves him down their. Like I said, he's charming.
He smiles out of the blue a lot. Used to we had to try really hard to get him to smile. Now he laughs a lot and smiles at virtually nothing. I can be writing something down and when I look over he's giving me a toothy grin.
Oh yea, and he has two teeth now! First tooth June 26th, second tooth was on July 3rd! Now he's chewing on his fingers with his side gums... I think that's where the next tooth will be.

I just love him so much. I can't believe it's already been a whole 6 months. I love him. It is amazing to be able to watch him grow like this. He gets excited now when he sees certain people. I love it when I get home from somewhere and he starts kicking his little legs and squealing for me. He also holds his arms out for me. He clings when I have him up close. Wraps his arms around me when I'm kissing on him. When he wakes up in the morning and sees my face for the the first time in hours- Man, the look and smile he gives me... it is the most beautiful thing in the world and no matter how old he gets I will never forget that face.

Ah, I love him.
